Summer School

Each summer during the school holidays, we operate a Summer School, which is open to all pupils and is held at the dance school.

This is to enable approx 40 - 50 pupils to attend drama and dance workshops over a 2 week period, culminating in a performance at the end, which is performed in a theatre, where family and friends are able to come and watch.

All dates and costs are confirmed yearly. In recent years, we have performed:

Her Majesty's Theatre

On the 8th July 2007, 35 lucky dancers from our school were fortunate enough to take part in a show that was held at Her Majesty's Theatre, home of Phantom of the Opera.

They performed two routines and were sensational in both; The Jazz Suites, a ballet routine and Gonna Make you Sweat, a streetdance routine.

The Royal Albert Hall

Off the back of our very exciting visit to Her Majesty's Theatre, we have now been invited to take part in a show in May 2008 at this world renowned prestigious venue.

42 dancers will take part in a streetdance routine and once again we are really looking forward to this amazing opportunity!!!

Shows

Whilst exam work is paramount, it is fair to say that throughout the school there is a great love of performing and show work - the sheer joy of dance is very much embraced by all ages!

In order for the pupils to be able to showcase their abilities, every 3 years, we put on a full Dance production which is held in a theatre.

All children are encouraged to take part and they all have special costumes made for this.

Indeed, we are now planning our next shows for July and October 2008, at the Prince of Wales Theatre in Cannock.

Over 2000 people came to watch our last major productions which were in 2005, so I'm sure you can appreciate how popular the shows are, both with pupils and their families alike!!!

Awards Evening

Each year, we host an awards presentation, where all parents and pupils are invited.

This years event was on Friday 29th June and once again was a massive success with over 350 parents and pupils enjoying a great night out…we have a disco, buffet and of course, the awards presentation!

We hand out trophies for various aspects of dance...it's a great family event and, no one knows who has won anything until the night!!! It's our opportunity of rewarding those pupils who have worked particularly hard throughout the year!
